Dual Credits

Dual credit programs are intended to assist secondary students in the completion of their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and successful transition to college and apprenticeship programs. Literacy Lessons for Teachers Supporting Students in Dual Credit Programs has been developed in response to the needs of secondary school teachers in the dedicated role who are supporting these students. This resource also responds to the recommendations of college professors as noted in the report of the College Sector Committee for Adult Upgrading, Essential Skills for Success…in College Postsecondary and Apprenticeship Programming. These literacy lessons are intended to highlight the knowledge, skills, and attitudes embedded in reading, writing and the use of texts that students encounter not only in school, college and work communities, but also in every community with which they participate.
