Learning-Oriented and Improvement Processes

System leaders create learning-oriented organizational improvement processes in a number of ways, including:

  • developing and implementing board and school improvement plans (which includes programming for ELL) interactively and collaboratively with school leaders
  • creating structures to facilitate regular monitoring and refining of improvement processes for the success of ELL

STEP – Initial Assessment User Guide
This document explains the importance of welcoming new families and describes the initial assessment process which is an opportunity to develop a profile of a student’s educational, linguistic, cultural and personal background, to recommend appropriate placement and to suggest supports.
